i have to attack a city or town many times to own a city?

If you took the loyalty down to 0 then it should be your city.

Conquering a village

I have spent all day trying to take my first village. One attack disappeared after begin sent and my last Attack took the loyalty to zero. I get an email saying that I conquered it but my troops have returned and I still don't own the village?... What's going on?
