I think I remember reading that world creation was not based on a schedule but on the population of the current world. I believe it was between 50-60k that they would kick off the next world.

The thread is posted under the sub-forum Questions and titled Upcoming World Info! I think it has info for worlds 78-80.

So when is world 79 going to open? World population on 78 is in the upper 60k, maybe 70k by now.
