I don't find the new troop selection any harder to use. But I am largely in 3 lvl forge worlds, which I suppose could change the way a person recruits troops.
A few things that people might find helpful from simple to counterintuitive.
The building you click determines which troop page you begin on. Don't click barracks if you want to build ballistics.
You can see the in-city troop count of three troops at once, same as previous set up, except now it is possible to see troop count of two different types of troops together, viewing the partial contents of two buildings at once.
The quickest route to guards is through the workshop. Click, swipe, click, and I am building max number of guards. Previously this would have been click, swipe, slide, click.
