In pretty much every game that has a forum and can be played on both devices, it's universal that this is what everyone wants.
Having that would dramatically reduce the number of people who drop out. Being able to set up some building when you're home on the iPad, go out, have your iPhone buzz you when it's done to set up the next thing.
I know that some people do drop out because they'll be playing in the morning, go to work, come back and find that they got rocked or just that everyone around them is miles ahead of them. It'd make the game a lot more competitive.
