Hopefully my guild will get on board one of the first of the revamped worlds. A lot of people, including myself, have been craving a revamp for Valor for a while. Very excited to see that it's finally here.
Also, you guys are reducing marketing efforts, not increasing? I actually found Valor thanks to an ad, lol.
Yes you are right that world 100 probably sucked in a lot of the veteran players... I tried to join world 100 but it filled up too quickly, and I was only able to make it to world 101, lol.
Well anyways guys keep up the good work, glad to see you guys are getting more active players into each world (that will make a massive difference in making things more fun and dynamic) and can't wait for the revamp!!

We're only reducing because we dont want to spend $ before a big revamp. It'd be very confusing for a new player to be in the game for 2 days and then have it completely change the next day. We'll be ramping up significantly once Trial By Sword is released and we're satisfied that it is stable.

In world 96, the population max was 30k. Such a low population max had a terrible effect on the world. World 96 is less than two months old, yet is already quickly dying off. There was not much competition in this world, and my guild easily triumphed over all the other guilds. In fact, most other guilds just gave up instead of giving us a good fight... This has honestly been one of the most boring worlds I've ever played in, and most blame it on the low population of the world. Yet, it seems like newer worlds have an even lower population cap of about 20k. If Valor has any hope of continuing to be a fun game, the population of the worlds need to be kept high. As it is, many of my guild mates are so bored that they are not only quitting world 96, but quitting Valor altogether, because they see the low population of future worlds and think to themselves "why bother?" The Valor community is starting to feel like a ghost town these days as well. It took world 108 nearly three days to reach 20k players before it closed and world 109 opened. Noob protection wore off and there were still under 20k players that had joined. Are there just less people playing Valor these days or what? I remember the days when a world would reach 60k players in two days.
Hopefully the new version of Valor currently being beta'd will reinvigorate Valor as well. I've heard it's pretty awesome. Any idea when the new version of Valor will roll out to live, "non beta" servers?

Also, I should mention that we have significantly reduced our marketing efforts in preparation for the launch of Valor: Trial By Sword (the revamp to Valor that should be hitting the game within the next two weeks, Apple gods permitting).

It doesn't matter if a world is 60k people if half of those stop playing after the first day. We are working on making some smaller worlds with a higher amount of active players on them.

The worlds 95+ really took a hit from W100 drawing a lot of top players away. It's less about max population and more about concentration of players. We'll be addressing that very soon. VERY VERY SOON.

It has been my experience up until recently that worlds have had a population max of about 60k players.
