I haven't used Battle Planner in a long time, but last I did, it had a finite limit in cities, and you had to setup all your attacks to get the data. I use excel, and I only have to input the target coord and the desired land time and everything else is done. Mine even computes merchant walk time, which Battle Planner didn't.
As far as a lot of planning for a non-player barb, you gotta use everything at your disposal to get ahead of the enemy
