Still not sure this is the same situation as the city was barb and a active player. But yes weird

I've had a similar situation happen to me...

A guildmate sent 8 scholars to a city far away and then "Accidentally" abandoned the world leaving his cities barbarian, after they went barb I sent my scholars to conquer his barb city before his scholars arrived. I conquered his city and it automatically had 8 scholars in it. No recall or troops on route.

Lol good one! I would think if your city was taken BEFORE you take the city you are attacking then you would be SOL. Your sent attacks would become property of the person who took your city. Just my oppinion though anyone else?

What happens if I have scholars attacking a city then then my city gets conquered while the scholars are on their way?
