I have the same problem... some of the newly concurred cities do not require 5 coins, some do... This is very annoying!

Its good to hear that this bug is going to be fixed soon!

What happens to the cities that were conquered during this time? Will it be possible to change their names afterwards?

And what about the gold that was spent for name change during this time? Will it get re- imbursed?

It is a bug. The first city name change should still be free. I am having this looked into right now.

Why does it cost five gold to change a city name now? Is that a permanent change?
