Recognize that production is what it is and adapt your strategy to it: interlock your troop production requirements with resource production. You will find yourself rarely short or over supplied with anything. When you are, dump those resources to a central city. I buy scholarships at the central location.

Definitely. It's a market, let the market decide. Could also do a mini eBay. Put it on auction and after set time, it goes. I can't tell you how many dormant merchants I have bc I can't give it away. I'd rather get something than nothing!

I do not like the 2:1 maximum ratio for trading in the market. Face it- from time to time certain resources just aren't very valuable - I swear I can't even give extra resources away. I feel like 1000 lumber or clay is worth 3000 even 4000 iron sometimes... When I nearly max out iron I just wish I could offer to trade what I think is fair.
