The turf idea is the only new idea.

If magic doest fit the theme of the game, don't introduce magical creatures.

There is a war thing in diplomacy and dragons,I think that valor should be a bot realistic.

Here's some new ideas that this game doesn't have yet..
100 guild members
If a guild declares war, both guilds see eachother as enemies on the map.
You can conquer/ own the empty spaces on the map where there is no city and it'll change colors to show who's turf you're by.
Have a world with an ocean on it as well and allow conquering of the seas by building a navy.
Have building defenses to go on your wall such as spikes or archers to build to help keep things a challenge.
Have animations where you can actually see your massive armies in your cities, or watch them marching on the map.
Because they're castles, introduce things like dragons. Maybe they attack you or maybe you can train them to help you, to look cool just cuz, or to attack others with.
Barbarian cities build armies and attack you. (although this has happened to me with 1 lancer from a barb)
