Okay according to the simulator that's about correct, so my bad, I simply found it strange for 17 soldiers to die with no one to kill them.

I had 31 lancers and it was a level 4 wall, I don't think that should be sufficient to kill more than half my troops.

Lol 17 lancers trying to take on a barb city with a decent size wall is suicide. Scout before you send, and if there is a wall take it down so you don't lose troops in the future but be warned a barb city will rebuild in time.

How many did you send and does that city have a wall?

A wall by itself can add a lot of defense power to a city.

I don't know if this is a bug, but I find it pretty ridiculous that I somehow lost 17 lancers against a undefended barbarian city, but that isn't the only time I suffered an odd number of losses. Whatever the case I think it stands that the battles need some serious balancing.
