Suggested before. Here we're the main thoughts about it:

1. Use markets
2. Not useful later on in the game
3. Just send more attacks with more people for greater haul

It would be nice to be able to choose which resources you would like to farm from enemy and barbarian cities as sometimes you may need more of one than another or your warehouse is full of one or abother
