If you have good communication then you shouldn't have this problem. Claim the city first so no one else goes for it. Since this would only apply to people in your guild it shouldn't have to be used. As long as they check the claims thread this can be easily avoided.

How about auto-changing an attack of a city that has been conquered by a fellow guild member to automatically correct itself to a support wave as opposed to an attack. After all, once a distance attack is launched on a city, there is no way to stop it. And one does not want to attack a fellow member of the guild - ie the city's flag is now the same as my own, it would be as if I attempted to take a city from myself along with stealing goods from myself. But to have the system auto change the attack to support based on the same guild will eliminate a lot of issues between players and competitions. I've also seen that Valor is really slow in updating the names of cities to reflect captures and affiliations. All these need to be addressed to improve game play.
