You may not be able to build a new city, but you certainly can take some one else's that resides on a choice piece of real estate. For instance, I would gladly take someone else's city if they had a population boost ;)

Starting position is random, and you cannot just "build a new city" you have to capture it. Seems unfair and wouldnt work in valor i dont think.

It certainly has the potential to make people go for certain pieces of land.

This feature would be very nice indeed. I've seen this on many strategy games before.
Hope they will implement this in the future, it would make this game epic :D

I know this is very Civ, but why not add some kinds of land resource? If your city is near a resource there are bonuses.

Iron or bronze, you get slight production bonus.

Fertile land or lake/game, your troop production is slightly faster or your population limit is slightly higher.

Wooded land (trees) faster wood.

Incense or Spice, higher morale, faster loyalty.

You can add more resource.

Also you can unlock new technologies in the forge as your growing empire amasses more resources.

It is a valid way to force players to grow strategically and defend their cities more.
