Not so! You send too many thirsty men to a city they'll drink it dry.
Use lower carrying capacity troops for late clears and escorts, and don't send so many if you're worried about resources.
ie zerks and guardians on a per head basis

Nice sarcasm there. But your answer to this time consuming game is to... Spend even more time going from city to city sending supplies to a newly conquered city thirty hours away. Great advice there. Why not just admit that in war it nobody would strip a new conquest dry when they take it over and that didn't occur to you?

Around here we like to call that toggle "the market," but I suppose, if you can't wait 5 minutes to a few hours to send resources, then you are stuck at whatever the resource buildings are going to produce (which isn't really any different from your original city).

Might be a viable reason to target a city that has a high level hiding place, haha.

There should be a toggle where you can turn off looting. It is annoying to conquer cities and having to wait for resources to replenish because you looted the city bankrupt.
