Or your scholar reconquers your own city lol. Yea they need to think a lot of stuff out

But then it's not realistic that an army rolls up and doesn't notice that the city has been conquered and the guards at the gates are your mates from the barracks either!
I'm sure it's in there as a game mechanic to encourage conflict with allies over attacking cities, we are supposed to fight after all!

Well, it's not like you could send an army a text message a few feet away from your target and say "yo dog, wars over. come back we'll play some lute hero." That's looking at it from a historical standpoint.

It s fool that your armies attack one of your city once conquered if the troops started before
