Today, with my wall at 15, I survived a scholar attack.. Hardly any troops in my city, but hey, I get to live another day.... That is till my enemy builds more scholars and sends them in waves. My level is still way to low to even think about scholars... So my advice to everybody, never join a world...

Not fast enough if you ask me, this way you never survive a scholar attack 4 times.

It's not only the amount of troops that counts but also the sort of troops and wether you want to use them for attacking or for defences.
I take it that you also scrolled down at that '?' page as to where you will find some more info.
