Where did my scholars go?

I have had my last two scholars disappear on me right after educating them, so i've never had the chance to use them to take another city. Why is this happening?
It shouldnt be happening at all. Have you double checked your troop count via the rally point
Go to :
Rally Point > Troops
Check each of your cities to make sure that they werent educated in another city.
