Check internet connection

Constantly getting check internet connection or could not retrieve data message.
Connection is fine full bars in wireless and 3G when playing.
Also very slow data to me. players have messaged me saying sorry for taking city and I've still not received notice that I've taken the city they are talking about.

If this continues will probably end up being the reason I stop playing, just too frustrating when trying to defend , support and anything in a hurry.
