Unable to connect

I have downloaded valor and valor HD on my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.4.1 and am unable to connect to the game. It continuously says to check my internet connection on both wifi and cellular data. I have tried to soft reset my phone and uninstalled and reinstalled the both apps 2x to no avail.

Now I'm not a certified tech or anything, but I've owned IPhones for years now. If that's the only app having issues (or if others are as well) and closing out multitasking/redownloading/normal restarting isn't working I personally always suggest a force restart or popping out the SIM card and reinserting. Probably sounds a bit weird, but it's fixed all kinds of random issues that came up without much hassle on my end. As long as you have a small paper clip or equivalent you don't even have to leave the house.
