So every time I send lancers and sentries as support when they reach the destination the population in the the city they are send from is increased by the number of troops send. Is this just me?...

Lordvulcan - have this issue from time to time. Only sending troops back helps.

YOu can try and start demolishing a building then cancel it sometimes it resets it
