+1 how i would love that, or at least select ALL so it can be deleted once.

By the moment, if you really want to forget a lot of messages, you can reinstall.
Pros: It will let you just the last 2 days of messages. Less to delete, if you play in several worlds.
Cons: all messages will show unread status, even in guild forum :(
