Last night I captured a city with 9 scholars in it (out on support). Now Valor is reporting I have an additional 18 scholars.
I love getting 9 from a former player, but I don't want to pay for 18.

This is on W70, and my id is Titus69 on that world. The captured city is now named KoT Phi @ 288,370.

Perhaps the city you captured had 9 scholars that were attacking another persons city, and by the time they got back to the city they attacked from, you had already taken it. So it is possible that they were added to your army.
This is just a guess. This can also be a bug.

This is why I need to learn to actually read, rather than skimming through text.
