how do u exit the app on android?

I have looked everywhere for a way to exit the app so i can use my phone for other things...like phone calls. The only thing i have found that will exit is a hard power down of my phone.....not ideal. What am i missing here? Playing on samsung galaxy siii.

Press the home button at the bottom of the phone. TO get a list of open apps, press and hold that button.

Sorry but galaxy siii has no home button. Only setting button and back button. I have tried both to no effect.....other ideas?

I'm using the S3 right now. It has a home button. Its the big unmarked depressable button below your screen.

You can also exit using the soft back button... Bottom right next to the home button... The one that definitely does exist...

The soft back button has never backed me out of the app. Do i have a setting turned off?

I cant believe I have had this phone for 3 months and had no idea that thing at the bottom of the screen was a button. lol. That might be why I cant do screen shots either...lol

Yup. Screenshots are done by lressing that button and the power button at the same time. You can also palm swipe your screen. I know it sounds weird, but your phone should automatically have it turned on. Its in the motion settings.

All you doo is slide the side of your hand vertically across the screen, and voila. Pick whichever method is best for you
