What do the scrolls do?

I scouted barb cities and noticed that i have found what is called lore. I only have 1 scroll out of 6 and i read something about research. I was wondering what it does excactly?

Welcome! Glad your search brought you to the lore forum. The scrolls do not do anything in and of themselves. As in, they give you no resource or gold reward. But if you find all 6 scrolls, they will give you clues about a real feature that is going to be introduced into the game in our big revamp at the beginning of December.

There are multiple features we're bringing out at that time, and one of them is foreshadowed in Quiddlebog's scrolls. To learn about the others, you can conquer Barbarian cities with General Valahand and read Aurora's visions that are posted on this forum.
