Teams w 12k points after 1 day?!

I've been hammering away at this game nearly nonstop for 30 hours now trying to build a strong base before beginner protection is off. I'm doing well tops in my region and holding well at around 2k. Good resource production. Been busting my ass farming abandoned villages. However there are teams with 12k points under 1 city (w special city icon) and Still under beginner protection. How do these guys get so strong so damn fast!? Hacked? Certain strategy?!

Most probably using gold to buy speed ups, also depends on which building they have built as different buildings are worth different points

Yep with the speed ups and ability to buy resources the rich people get strong fast.

Hell, I'm using speed ups too, but for someone to hit that score in 24 hours or so, they must have dropped many hundreds if not thousands of dollars into the game to buy gold?! 25 gold only gets you 1k of each resource. After you hit 2k or 3k in points that's borderline useless. Stunning to think of how they grew so fast. Crazy stuff.

Are you sure that's not the guild score? The guild score adds up all the points of all te members. Guilds tend to form quickly.

The buying gold option is crazy - and I hate The idea. I rather buy the game and compete under the same circonstances. Could be free in 3 days - if you wanna continue - buy the game.
