How far back does BOA go? Every BOA alliance that I have seen since W28 either died early or flipped to whichever side they felt was winning. Thus backstabbing allies to save themselves.
If the original BOA are not like that, bring them back. Good competition is fun.

You could choose to just kill of all the opponents - and then have a big blast battle in the end. Winner get the right to mock the looser
