I'm in no ways an expert on the placement algorithm, but as the world release time was publicized to all in advance, my hunch is that regardless of coordination of guilds on drop times, many other players were also dropping in at the same moment.

Are you sure they all choosed the Enter by location button, and not the simple Enter button (that surely add a random choosed location...) ???
