Community Update

Postby BenTheWicked » Fri Nov 18, 2016 4:25 pm

The Valor community should not be surprised when I tell you that we have a lot of work to do to get the game back into fighting form. The first step that we took was changing servers. The company we used for the past several years was not giving us the work we needed, and a new company has offered a much more flexible platform. Now, work continues!

First, it should be noted that we are a small team. Ben Davis, your community manager, is the only in-office person working on Valor. He has three freelance developers helping to work on bugs and fix glitches. But, the best way to fix bugs is to fix the old code that we're working with.

So, without further ado, this is what's going on in the game:
  1. We are now working on the fabled rewrite of the game. Valor was originally written in Ruby, but these days, Ruby is not widely supported. Now, we are rewriting the game's code to GO. During this rewrite, we will be able to discover some of the game's systems and root out the bad code and replace it with working code. On a personal note, I hope that this lowers the instances of bugs and glitches, as we will be able to find and correct bugs easier.
  2. We've had several reports of lagging, double hits, and glitched Farms/Warehouses. We are looking into these, but we are unable to discover what is going on here. If you encounter these issues regularly, please take screenshots and send a full explanation of how often these glitches happen to ben.davis@valor-game.com
  3. Due to the high demand on Ben's time, he will no longer be available on Kakao. If you run into a bug or glitch, you can email him or create a ticket in http://osticket.valor-game.com and we will look into it as soon as possible.

We understand that there is frustration in the community, as it appears that you've been abandoned. However, this small team is working hard to finish updating the game and stabilize the systems.

After we finish this rewrite, we hope to begin work on a top-secret Valor project. We want the current game to be stable and smooth first, and that's where all of our time is going.

In short, rest assured. We are still working hard for you.
