Scholars

Postby timeoutmode » Fri Mar 09, 2012 6:43 am

I just conquered my second city. Is it wise to educate scholars on my first city again or build an academy on my 2nd city? I dont know which is the best option. Thanks

It depends on what you would like to do. Unless my city that I took over is in a strategic location then I would just use it for resources but build a good wall and put some troops in there. So unless the city is far away then just send resources from the city you conquered to your original one. No point in building a second academy.
Because war is war, and war never changes.

I recommend building academies in every city (and fortifying said cities with at least a Lvl 25 wall because you don't want those cities to become easy targets).

Eventually, as you expand your empire, you'll need to purchase more and more scholarships to educate the next level of scholar (e.g., your 17th scholar will require you to purchase 17x more scholarships than what you already have).

And if you're going to max out resource production in each city, you'll find that an idle city can reach the 500,000 maximum threshold for pretty quickly (especially if you are in a 2.0 speed world generating 8,000x resources per hour). So Academies are a good way to spend those resources instead of just letting them hit max and waste away.

Your mileage may vary,

If I train a scholar at the Academy in city A, can I use him if I attack from city B, which also has an Academy?

All troops stay loyal to city they came from, even scholars.

A-scholars cannot attrack from city B. Only B-scholars attack from city B.

You can send scholars from A and from B to attack enemy city Z as separate attacks.

If I send scholar and 4 more my guild friends will send scholars one by one to goal city, than do last scholar get the city? And first 4 will go back to bases?

Maybe. Each wave with at least 1 surviving scholar, lowers the loyal of the citizens minds by 20-30 (25-35 /w Prestige). When loyalty hits zero, the citizens make the former lord disappear, and the scholar becomes the puppet lord.

If each one of you gets 25%, the city is conquered twice, only 3 scholars return home.
