Battle- troops lost vs 0 defense??

Battle- troops lost vs 0 defense??

I've had a few cases where I had attacked barbarian cities, and no troops were sent out in defense, but I still lost 2 or 3 of my troops.. How does this happen?

The barb city had walls.

Not always, sometimes they just get lucky.

I've had the same thing.

If I've already defeated the Barb city and killed everyone, how can it still have wall defence ? Very strange.

I think it's more a case that some of my troops decided to go awol, lol !
