Why has the beginners protection timer stopped on 56 seconds left? Has it frozen or is this intentional

Sometimes when the timers get close to zero, they run out and are not automatically updated. The game's timer has actually ended, but the clock timer may start visible for a short period of time.

Portal > ? (Question Mark - Upper right of the screen) > Support > Mail Icon
