What is/difference between sticky thread and non?

i want to make accurate threads to my guild. Whats the point of making a thread sticky?

A sticky thread post will always remain at the top of the forum containing that thread. It is typically used for major announcements or a sort of "guidelines/rules" thread for use of that particular forum. If you have anything important you want always at the top of that forum "stick" it to the top by making it a sticky thread.
