Noob Qs lookin for some As

Alright so I just started this game after stumbling across it in the app store looking for a game similar to the androids "pocket empire". So I don't have anyone to ask for beginners tips. What's the best strategy for a new player? Is there one? And what would be the best thing to spend my 100 gold on? I don't plan on buying any unless this game wows me. I'm thinking it's going to fall short of pocket empires though. I truly hope I'm wrong though.

First find your self a guild, preferably located close to you so you'll be able to have fast support from them and equally important for you to send fast support. Among other things. Guildmates are what makes this game fun. And in the guild forum you'll have lots of people to ask most of your qstns. They'll help you. Be active and log in several times a day so you have your building cue filled all/most of the time, build up your resources and your warehouse in order to keep stock...
But most of all find friends in the guild and have fun
