What role does morale play? Mine is going down as I farm and want to make sure it is not hurting me in the long run

Good question. I would love to know also. I don't think you need to worry about it to much but I could be wrong.

Morale goes down if your overall points is large in comparison to your target. This will greatly weaken the attack strength of your forces, and is intended to make it less attractive to attack a player much weaker than you.
