how do i boost the resource production?? its set to "OFF"

You have to buy resource boosters at the store for 50 gold. They make a certain resource you choose to produce 25% more resources for that type. It also lasts for 7 days. Btw if you go to the store you should have one free wood booster if you have not already used it.
