How does the revocation of research work?

From what I understood, when you revoke research you get the points back. This worked once for me, but then I tried twice more and I have not received the points. Is there a delay? At this point I cannot even get the units that I revoked back! I'm in W53.

For worlds that have level-3 research enabled, you can revoke points if you have at least a level 10 forge.

Every city has its own research points.

Currently you cannot lower lancer research to zero.

The research queue only allows for two commands at the time.
