Building upgrades

Can anyone please answer this question, if I upgrade a guiding from city hall and choose to use gold insteadnof resources does it happen IMEADITLY or do you still need to wait the time it takes to build. The reason I ask is because it would be cheaper to buy direct resources and build then to pay the cost in gold valor wants to upgrade. Any info would be much appreciated

The reply to the question was INCORRECT! If u upgrade a building using gold you still need to WAIT the time it says for the building to be upgraded.
