Level of troops

Does the level of troops you send to support a city stay the same level or does it take on the level of forge of the supporting city? Example: I send level 3 lancers to a level 1 lance city, do my troops stay at level 3 or do they drop down to level 1?

Drop to Level 1. Supporting troops take the levels of the city they're in, but count towards the population of the city they're from.
