Is there a limit research? I'm trying to increase knights to level 3 but I'm getting an error message saying: all research points have been allocated. What does this mean?

You have 10 total research points to allocate. Since there are 7 total unit types (not counting scholars), if you have unlocked all of them, you only have 3 more points to distribute. Go and count the levels of all your troop types: it'll already add up to 10. If you really need knights at L3, you can revoke the research on one of your other types. Sadly, no revoking lancers :/

Personally, though, I wouldn't upgrade knights past L1...

Knights give a fair amount of attack, making them better for long long range attacks.

I usually use them to scare others to stop attacking isolated guild mates in other regions.
