If there is another crown, life goes on as normal. If not, then a strong leader must emerge and take control

You cannot attain the rank of warlord unless a current warlord promotes you. So once your only warlord goes inactive it is usually best for everyone to quit and reform the guild with another person as the warlord.

This is true deathvirus. However, if a strong leader will step forward and lead, then there will probably be little opposition and you don't need to restart. What world is this in? And what guild?

What deathvirus means is a guild cannot function if the only crown has disappeared. To mange certain guild features you need to have the crown, wings wont cut it.
You need to abandon that guild (not the world so no need for a restart) and set up a new guild with another founder/crown. Then invite your old buddies from the old guild and voila, the guild has resurrected from the ashes ;)

A good warlord will appoint another warlord if threatened or going inactive.
