My troops morale has been going down as I have been farming resources. What causes the lowering morale and how do I improve it?

They like to fight other troops

Have you recently been attacking smaller players?
Your morale will increase if you attack players as same as you or even higher.

Thank you both for your good advice. I thought I was supposed to farm the abandon cities till my city was strong enough to take them over. I will search for stronger barbarians.

If you are farming an empty barbarian city (no troops) your morale won't make a difference anyways (your losses will still be minimal) so you can keep farming the target. The reason for morale is if a player attacks another player with a much smaller city, the morale bonus will inflict higher losses on the bigger player for essentially being a bully.
