Market Trading - Transport Times

Whenever I go to make a trade I see transport times what does this mean? Time till your goods are exchanged with other player or what? If that were true why would you want it up to 5 hours???

I just started today, but I have the same question. The only reason I could see is to hedge your inventory over a period of time. I.e. Going to bed at night, you may want a 5 hour trade in the hopes that by the time someone looks for the trade, and makes the trade, it will take (up to) 5 hours before you get the item you traded for. So this way you would be able to start building first thing in the morning with what you accrued through the night, and then will get the X quantity of the other item a short time later.

Hell, I could be way off, but that seems to be the only logical thing to me.

Either way, you asked this question in August and it doesn't look like anyone is coming forward with a valid answer.

Well the dealer may be targeting a close player in a guild? If it is more than 5 hours away just look for a closer trade to accept, or make a trade of your own.
