I made a mistake when naming my city and now am being asked for coins to change it. Why? It's not an add-on.

So people don't keep changing name 24/7. You can only change once.

I understand that but you should be able to change it once which I can't.

What mistake did you make? tell me about that instead

I typed in my player name twice instead of player name then city name, got a bit confused at start of game.

Ah I see. Well you keep playing and you'll learn by your mistakes. When you have more cities you could re-take that city and change the name.

How do you change the name of a city you've conquered?

Click on the city hall of that city, go to the bottom of the page. There is a text box Wth the current city's name in it. Type the new name in and select change.
Remember you can only do this once per city. After that you have to pay to change it.
