City selection

I have 5 scholars now in my city I have been waiting for a big barb near me for over a week should I just take small barbs and build them up as I feel like I'm falling behind

Why are you taking barb cities in the first place? Target other players it gets you bigger and nicer cities

There isn't exactly loads of 10k players without guilds in my area

Is that the typical size of cities targeted? How small is too small, and how big is too big?
