Ballistas or rams?

I've always been curious if it was even worth getting rams once you had ballistas. Bas have an 80 attack vs rams' 10, but i don't think that's what applies to walls. If you have 20 Bas targeting a wall or 20 rams, which will do more damage? (assume no troops are in the city or your support army is enough to take them out)

Ballistas do not hurt the wall, but the buildings within it. Figure it self out, what hurts the most? Downlevel of the wall or the farm/barracks/quarry?

Ballistas will take down a walk mix them if it's one level research hit a wall and a farm or somthing rally point is stupid it's a few minutes to rebuild it
