Knights or guards for attack

Knights are best for attacking but Guards have much higher defence.

Important to note that guards are just barely weaker than knights in attack, and have much more defence.

It's also important to note that knights take up 3 pop, while guards take up 4. Additionally, guards have a slower training time, so they take longer to replace.

It really depends. If you're trying to kill sentries, use guards. For lancers, use zerks. Everything else, take your pick or do a mix. I personally use mainly zerks. Rarely use much of anything else. But I will from time to time

If you are solely looking for an answer attack and attack only then knights are better than guards but if u only have knights in ur city and u go to sleep or work or what ever keeps you from the game and someone attacks knights will do you no good. Guards a little bit behind knights in attack but have much more defense. In other words two in one

I'm confused - everyone says knights are better than guards at attacking, but I'm looking at the unit overview right now in the
game's help section, and it clearly states that Knights attack = 110 and Guardian attack = 115; am I missing something?

Yep - knights take 3 population, guards 4. So, you get less of them. Also, they have a slower training time.

Knights = 3 pop (1 unit) which = 110 attack
Guards = 4 pop (1 unit) which = 115 attack
So you have to get to a common number to truely see the caparison.

Knights = 12 pop (4 units) which = 440 attack
Guards = 12 pop (3 units) which = 345

So now it comes down to one question...do you want to attack with 440 or 345?
