Rams/Ballistas Level 3

Postby TheBoyMort » Fri Feb 10, 2012 12:18 pm

Is there much point researching rams and ballistas to level 3?

I have run a few basic simulations with troops and a level 25 wall and there does not appear to be a significant difference in the number of troops lost or the reduction of the wall/building for level 1 vs level 3.

Can you elaborate?

I am saying there doesn't appear to be a significant difference.

Rams and ballistas are only effective with a lot of troops.

If your troops are wiped out in the attack, so will your siege and they will barely make a dent. It will result in an epic fail.

As far as leveling up your siege weapons. I think it's better to have the 300-400 rams and 300 ballistas at level 2 and then have your guardians/knights and or berserkers at level 3.

I don't find it necessary to build your siege weapon to level 3 when the most important factor is your troops

Thank you Goldnagger this is precisely the type of response I was looking for and confirms what the battle simulations were suggesting.

I hazard a guess that it would be worth a gamble on having siege units at entry tier and allocating the points elsewhere for a greater combined attack combo.
