Zerks/knights?

Would it be a good combination for attacking and taking over? Or because both units have a very low defensive bonus, would they easily get wiped out in an attack?

I'm still unsure of how defense points matter in an attack, but that is a popular and well regarded combination.

I love this combo I used to lose it a lot lol but that was untill I get attacked from really close range I had nothing to dodge with so now I use 2250 guards in all my attack cities and I fill the rat of the farm space witty zerks and rams
