How do you raise moral? I've been constantly farming city's of people not playing and my moral is down to 60%, I'm about to try to conquer a city and resting them now, is there any other way to improve it (without gold)? Or is it based on time? If so how much time?

its based on how much weaker or stronger the opposing player is compared to you. if they are weaker then your morale goes down. lowest ive seen is 60%. if the enemy is stronger, the same, or just a little bit weaker then the morale is 100%

Morale are the troops strength of each of your attacks. It your morale is showing -20 meaning you're attacking at only 80% strength of your total troops strength in that attacks. And it goes the same as +20 means at 120% strength which will increase the killing power and minimise your troop loss.

It means stop picking on the poor newbies!
Jk, glad to see you are committing yourself to the inactive-spill-clean-up cause. You may experience a bit of morale-loss as a side-effect.
